Many homeowners invest considerable money adding decks and porches, but don’t maintain or refinish them. When decks are exposed to sun and damaging UV rays the finish will break down quickly. Each decking material such as fir, cedar, pressure treated, mahogany or ipe demands a specific finish for that product.  Inappropriate finishes can cause peeling, splitting or product failiure.   Many painters take a short cut approach.  By not preparing the surface correctly and applying the wrong finish, your deck will have to be restored, again.
